Local-loving staff and cast from Kanagawa unite!
A manga set in Kanagawa by Yoroida

“KANAGAWA ELVES” is finally getting a TV anime adaptation!

The elves, whose forest home was once burned down— lived in “Kanagawa”.

Located just south of Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture is home to elves who live as ordinary residents— not in secrecy but in plain sight— in places like Yokohama, Yokosuka, Chigasaki, and Sagamihara .

At the heart of the story is  “The Elf of Yokohama” and  “The Human of Kawasaki” who, for various reasons, just can’t leave him alone.

A modern fantasy comedy overflowing with local pride, featuring “KANAGAWA ELVES” who have fully adapted to life in contemporary Japan !

#The Elf of Yokohama

CVChiaki Kobayashi

An elf who has been living in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture ever since the forest of elves in a mysterious world was burned down. A typical elf with a strong sense of self-worth, yet secretly embarrassed about still receiving financial support from his uncle.
He has a tendency to act like the ruler of Kanagawa at the drop of a hat.

#The Human of Kawasaki

#The Human of Kawasaki

CVYuu Hayashi

A perfectly ordinary young man living in Kawasaki—
But he shares a bloodline with the elves.
His days are filled with endless concern — being dissed by elves over Kawasaki city, having his life constantly threatened, and dealing with exhausting work.

Little Fairy

Little Fairy

CVKoutaro Nishiyama

Little Fairy, visible only to elves who can sense and manipulate mana, is found everywhere.
It seems to know a great deal about each location and happily shares its knowledge.
Even The Human of Kawasaki—descendants of elves long past—begins to perceive it, if he spend enough time in nature-rich places filled with mana.

#The Elf of Yokosuka

#The Elf of Yokosuka

CVYuusuke Nagano

An elf living in Yokosuka City.

a perfectly legal "Immortal boy" elf.

#The Elf of Sagamihara

#The Elf of Sagamihara

CVYuki Inoue

An elf running a landscaping business in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture’s third designated city. He loves nature and has the ability to communicate with plants and flowers. He also holds a Level 1 Landscaping Construction Management Technician certification. He’s the kind of Kanagawa resident who insists that “Machida City is part of Kanagawa,” citing the fact that Kanagawa Chuo Buses run through it.

#The Orc of Machida

#The Orc of Machida

CVGou Fujii

An orc living in Machida City, Tokyo. Unlike the elves, he thrives in the capital city Tokyo. He has a hostile relationship (?) with The Elf of Yokohama.
Though his race is known for its toughness, he may be relying on it a bit too much—he’s a hard worker, and his trash bin is always full of empty energy drink cans...

#The Elf of Yokohama
Chiaki Kobayashi
I’m honored to play The Elf of Yokohama. My name is Chiaki Kobayashi, born in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.Interestingly, nearly all of the cast and staff are also from Kanagawa, which made for a uniquely local atmosphere during recording—our conversations during breaks often revolved around Kanagawa! The witty exchanges between The Elf of Yokohama and The Human of Kawasaki, as well as plenty of Kanagawa-specific references and local charm, is something that can be enjoyed regardless of where you're from—so we truly hope you'll check it out!"
Yuu Hayashi
#The Human of Kawasaki
Yuu Hayashi
I’m Yuu Hayashi, and I played The Human of Kawasaki. The character was described as a 'normal young man'. It was the first time in my career that I played a character described as 'ordinary,' so I made a conscious effort not to embellish or stand out, and instead approached the role with the natural tone and manner I use in everyday conversation. I had a lot of fun recording with the cast, enjoying the amusing sense of contrast that came from acting opposite elves and other fantastical beings within a setting that felt grounded in everyday life. Thank you for your support!

Little Fairy

I had the pleasure of performing both the narrator and Little fairy. As someone also from Yokohama City in Kanagawa Prefecture, I’m truly honored to be part of this production. Throughout the recording, I found myself constantly relating to the many 'Yokohama moments' in the story. At the same time, I learned so much about other cities in Kanagawa that I hadn’t known before—it was a fun and eye-opening experience! This project reminded me just how wonderful Kanagawa is, and I’m now hoping to take some time on my days off to explore it more deeply. Please enjoy the anime alongside the original work!
Yuusuke Nagano
#The Elf of Yokosuka
Yuusuke Nagano
I’m Yuusuke Nagano, and I played The Elf of Yokosuka. I’m originally from Sagamihara City in Kanagawa Prefecture. The Elf of Yokosuka may look like a young boy and has a charming personality, but he also reveals glimpses of the weight of a long life, like a wise old man. I truly enjoyed portraying him. This anime is packed with the unique charm of Kanagawa, and I believe viewers will thoroughly enjoy it. Please be sure to check it out!
Yuki Inoue
#The Elf of Sagamihara
Yuki Inoue
I’m Yuki Inoue, playing The Elf of Sagamihara. I’m originally from Chigasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture. The recording sessions brought together a cast of fellow Kanagawa natives, and it was such a fun experience—our conversations during and between takes were filled with Kanagawa talk! I’m truly happy to be part of a project so deeply rooted in my home region, and I’ll continue doing my best to share the charm of Kanagawa, Sagamihara, and—of course—Chigasaki!
Gou Fujii
#The Orc of Machida
Gou Fujii
I’m Gou Fujii, playing The Orc of Machida. Among the many graceful elves, my character stands out as a rugged, masculine type—but he’s also cute! He works hard at a 'black company' (an exploitative workplace), and that sense of everyday struggle made him feel oddly relatable. By the way, I grew up in the northern part of Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture—right next to Machida. So I totally get the whole 'Is Machida part of Kanagawa?' joke!

Thanks to everyone living in Kanagawa and everyone with ties to Kanagawa, “KANAGAWA ELVES” is being adapted both a TV drama and an anime on tvk! To all the cast members—thank you for becoming silly elves and orcs! Please stay tuned for more updates on the anime as well!

‘KANAGAWA ELVES’—I was already following this on X before joining the project, and I had already bought the manga! Well, I’m from Sagamihara, so of course I did! I thought, ‘This could be really fun as an anime,’ but I never imagined I’d be the one involved in making it. Now I’m working on it with all my heart—struggling, stumbling, but moving forward! Thank you so much for your support!
